Engines and performance

The standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that develops 228 horsepower, or you can elevate to an available 3.6-liter V6 that's good for 308 horsepower. Both are matched up with a nine-speed automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel drive. When it's equipped with the V6 engine, the Blazer RS trim can hit 60 mph in 6.6 seconds. If you go with the four-cylinder engine, the towing capacity is 1500 pounds and with the optional trailering package, the towing max moves up to 3,250 pounds. The V6, of course, gives you the highest towing capability with a maximum of 4500 pounds.

The experts at Car and Driver called the new Blazer the best-driving crossover Chevrolet offers, especially in the RS trim. Your  Denville, NJ family will like the fact that this SUV can come to a full stop from 70 mph in a rapid 165 feet. With the standard turbocharged four-cylinder the Chevy Blazer is rated at 22 miles MPG in the city and a money-saving 29 MPG on Hackettstown, NJ highways. The new Chevy Blazer offers standard infotainment features that include a 10.2-inch touch screen, a 4.2-inch driver information display, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, Amazon Alexa, a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio and a six-speaker stereo. Other standard features include remote start, keyless entry and dual-zone automatic climate control. Two standard USB ports are also part of the package, with one at the front and one in back of the center console.

Available tech features include an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 120-volt power outlet, wireless device charging, additional USB ports and a premium Bose stereo system with eight speakers.

Trim levels

For this year, the Chevy Blazer gives Morristown, NJ buyers a total of four trims to choose from: 2LT, 3LT, RS and Premier.

Safety

Standard safety features in the new Chevy Blazer include a rearview camera, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning along with a lane-keeping assist feature, forward collision warning, and automatic high-beam headlights.
